Addressing the region’s rapid economic and tourism growth, Mercedes-Benz Autobuses has delivered the first 20 units of a strategic project that will ultimately introduce a total of 50 advanced buses to the area.
Acquired by Autotransportes Medina and led by Livier Rebeca García García de Alba, these new vehicles are designated for critical routes linking Puerto Vallarta with neighboring areas in Nayarit, including Nuevo Vallarta, Bucerías, Punta de Mita, and the broader urban zone of Bahía de Banderas. This corridor serves as a vital artery for daily commuters, local commerce, and the booming tourism industry.
Engineering specifications prioritize both passenger comfort and stringent environmental standards. Each vehicle features a 2027-model OF 1421/48 chassis paired with an innovative two-door BECCAR body. Under the hood, the buses are powered by an efficient 6-cylinder OM924LA engine operating under the strict Euro 6 emissions standard, ensuring a minimal carbon footprint and aligning with the region’s green energy initiatives. Additional technical features include a robust MB G90-6S transmission, ZF steering, and Meritor axles, guaranteeing stability and safety across the coastal terrain.
Beyond the hardware upgrade, the modernization project emphasizes operational quality. Drivers assigned to the new fleet undergo specialized certification programs focused on safe driving practices and enhanced customer service.
