Three of the six young people who had been reported missing in separate cases in Jalisco have been found alive, the Jalisco State Prosecutor’s Office reported. They are three students who were last seen on June 25 in the community of El Zancudo, in the Ixtapa district of the municipality of Puerto Vallarta.
Although the search operations for this case concluded after confirming that the young people were in good health, authorities stated that the investigation remains open to clarify the circumstances surrounding their disappearance. Meanwhile, three other teenagers who disappeared in Guadalajara have not yet been located.
The Jalisco Prosecutor’s Office identified the three individuals found as:
- Flor Yoselin Espinoza Contreras, 18 years old
- José Israel Ramos Mejía, 17 years old
- Elvira Monserrat Guzmán Mascorro, 14 years old
Prosecutor’s Office Keeps Investigation Open into the Students’ Disappearance
According to the agency, the Deputy Prosecutor’s Office for Missing Persons activated search protocols as soon as the disappearance was reported, carrying out field operations, information analysis, and following up on several phone calls received from family members.
As a result of these efforts, authorities determined that the three students had arrived on their own at a relative’s home, where it was confirmed that they were in good health and showed no apparent injuries.
Investigation Continues Despite Their Safe Return
Although the three young people have been found, the prosecuting authorities stated that the investigation will continue to determine what occurred during the days they were missing.
The case gained attention after the Prosecutor’s Office previously revealed that it was examining the possibility that the disappearance was linked to recruitment schemes operated by organized crime groups.
Students Were Traveling to a Graduation Ceremony
The Deputy Prosecutor for Missing Persons, Blanca Jacqueline Trujillo Cuevas, had previously explained that there were indications pointing toward that line of investigation. However, she clarified that, at that time, there was not enough evidence to confirm it.
According to the investigation, the students disappeared while traveling to a school graduation ceremony. During their absence, they remained in telephone contact with their families, informing them that they were safe but that they were unable to return at that time.
Three Teenagers Still Missing in Guadalajara
Despite the discovery of the students in Puerto Vallarta, the search continues for three other teenagers who disappeared in Guadalajara.
They are:
- Justin Enrique Torres Sandoval, 15 years old
- Jórdan Isaac García López, 14 years old
- Christopher Alfredo Sandoval Muñoz, 14 years old
The three were last seen on June 30 in the Lomas del Paraíso neighborhood after attending the graduation ceremony at Technical Secondary School No. 113.
The Jalisco Prosecutor’s Office stated that search operations, missing person bulletins, and the corresponding alerts remain active while investigators continue working to determine whether this case is connected to a possible criminal recruitment scheme.
So far, authorities have not released information about the whereabouts of these three teenagers, nor have they reported any new official leads regarding their location.
