The metropolitan area of Guadalajara has so far reported 608 business robberies. This is indicated by the latest report dated February 29, 2024, by the Security Platform of the Institute of Information, Statistics, and Geography (IIEG),
The figures show an increase compared to the same period but in 2023, as during that span, there were 602 known burglaries of businesses.
Where are there more robberies in Guadalajara?
In both cases, the center of the pearl of Guadalajara has recorded the highest number compared to other parts of the city, as this year there were 22 cases, while last year only 14 of these crimes were recorded in this quadrant.
In the Minerva area, there has also been an increase in these incidents, as in 2023 there were only two, and so far, this year, a total of six business crimes have been registered.
Another area that has been affected is Chapalita and its surrounding streets, as currently, there have been 18 robberies attended to, while in 2023, there were only five.
These are the areas with a notable increase in business robberies, although it is known that in the eastern part of the city, assaults have become more frequent than before, such as the case recorded on Wednesday, March 13, when armed individuals robbed a bakery.
During the year 2022, various assaults were made known through social networks, one of which had the greatest impact was that of the well-known Tacos verdes on August 24, when they assaulted the staff to take money and a van, a moment that was captured by surveillance cameras.
These circumstances expose the need for greater security also for the businesses of the different municipalities that make up the Metropolitan Zone of Guadalajara. This will allow the income sources of citizens to run a lower risk of being affected or threatened, as well as the integrity of the workers. Despite the efforts of the various police stations, these effects continue to occur within the state.”
