Because the Las Pintas pedestrian bridge will be rebuilt, the Guadalajara-Chapala highway will be closed in the section located at kilometer 7+800 on Thursday, June 1, from 00:01 to 03:00.
According to the Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications and Transportation (SICT), the first closure will be made on body B of the highway from the Miguel Hidalgo International Airport to Guadalajara and will only be for approximately 3 hours during which the beams are removed. of the current structure, so it is recommended to take alternative routes such as Periférico Nuevo, at km 11 of the highway.
The second road closure will be executed next week in the direction of Guadalajara towards Chapala to remove the upper structure of the bridge, in the next few days the SICT will announce the details so that road users can take precautions, so it is recommended to be vigilant.
The new Las Pintas bridge will be built with box-type concrete girders, it is estimated to be 21 meters long, and, contrary to its current version, it will have ramps to facilitate inclusive access for people. The works are expected to be completed next November for the benefit of the inhabitants and users of the area.
