To coordinate actions related to regional mobility, Mayor Luis Ernesto Munguía González held a meeting with Abraham Baltierra, manager of the Las Varas-Vallarta Highway, and Sergio Altamirano, head of Quality and Control Center, to review the Resident Vehicle Registration Program.
During the meeting, they discussed collaboration between the municipal government and the concessionaire to facilitate the implementation of this program, which offers a preferential rate with a 50% discount on the Vallarta-Bucerías section for residents of Puerto Vallarta and Bahía de Banderas who use the highway with a registered TAG (electronic toll collection device).
They also reviewed the requirements for registration, including: official identification with an address in the applicable municipalities, recent proof of address, vehicle registration, and registration of the associated TAG.
It is worth noting that the TAG device is a payment method used on some highways in Mexico that allows for automatic toll collection, eliminating the need for cash at the toll booth.
This meeting reaffirmed the municipal government’s willingness to work in coordination with the concessionaire to advance the program’s implementation, strengthen regional connectivity, and facilitate the mobility of residents between Puerto Vallarta and Bahía de Banderas.
