The Attorney General of the state of Jalisco, Salvador González de los Santos, confirmed the discovery of a clandestine call center in the San Andrés neighborhood of Guadalajara, where extortion was allegedly taking place.

“Individuals posing as bank employees were requesting information, offering services, and, of course, carrying out these types of frauds. Five people were arrested at this location, two of them minors and one female.”

González de los Santos detailed that they found headphones, cards, and other equipment used to make allegedly fraudulent calls at the location.

He mentioned that when officers arrived for the operation, those inside the house offered them money and a motorcycle to avoid arrest.

According to the initial investigation, the individuals operating this illegal call center were calling a database of people from various cell phone numbers, offering them credit cards.
