PUERTO VALLARTA, Jal., January 31, 2026.- Saturday morning marks 24 hours of demonstrations and road blockades in Puerto Vallarta to demand justice for the case of Clarisa Rodríguez, which has caused severe disruptions to mobility in different parts of the city. Since Friday, a group of demonstrators has kept traffic closed on Francisco Medina Ascencio Avenue, mainly at its intersections with Politécnico Nacional and Prisciliano Sánchez, as well as on other strategic roads, generating traffic chaos and forcing thousands of motorists to look for alternative routes. During the day, the demonstrators have received signs of support from some citizens, who have brought them water and food to support the protest. However, another sector of the population has expressed its disagreement with this type of action, pointing out that although Clarisa’s death must be clarified and punished according to the law, the blockades are affecting third parties who have nothing to do with the case.
Faced with this situation, representatives of the tourism and productive sectors of Puerto Vallarta have called on the authorities to engage in a dialogue that allows the release of roads, especially since it is a long weekend in which hotel occupancy is expected to exceed 80 percent. For their part, the demonstrators do not rule out moving to the vicinity of Puerto Vallarta City Hall in the next few hours, where a City Council sessionis being held this Saturday, to continue their demand for justice and being heard by the municipal authorities.
