This week, the Jalisco Style Single Card began distribution to those who successfully completed the pre-registration process at 11 locations in the Guadalajara Metropolitan Area (AMG) and other municipalities throughout the state that offer electronic payment for public transportation.
Data from the Jalisco government reveals that during the first few days of distribution, more than 15,000 people have received the card, while the validation process continues.
According to authorities, the card becomes valid upon receipt for public transportation payments at the current fare of 9.50 pesos. The partial subsidy, allowing users to pay 11 pesos instead of 14, will take effect on April 1st.
The Jalisco Style Single Card can be recharged at recharge stations or machines located in Mi Tren, Mi Macro, and Sitren stations, as well as at authorized stores and locations such as Oxxo convenience stores and other establishments that offer electronic recharge services. It can also be recharged at official Jalisco government offices, especially during distribution and service events.
For beneficiaries of social transportation assistance programs, the card is issued with the subsidy already applied.
To use it on public transportation, simply tap it on the reader when boarding a bus or entering light rail, Mi Macro Periférico, or Mi Macro Calzada stations.
It is recommended to keep the card in good condition, avoid bending or puncturing it, check the balance to be recharged, and, in case of loss, report it to prevent misuse and continue enjoying the benefits.
The first step is to pre-register through the portal http://tarjetaunica.jalisco.gob.mx/, where you will need your CURP (Unique Population Registry Code), INE (National Electoral Institute ID), cell phone number, email address, and address within the state of Jalisco.
Optionally, during pre-registration, you can attach a disability certificate, proof of enrollment in school, or birth certificate for minors.
After entering the required information, a validation process will begin, which can take up to a week. Once completed, a text message will be sent to schedule an appointment.
On the assigned day, the person must go to the corresponding module with the printed receipt and a copy of their INE (National Electoral Institute) card (both sides), where the card will be delivered.
In addition to these documents, beneficiaries of Mi Movilidad (My Mobility) or Yo Jalisco, Apoyo al Transporte (I, Jalisco, Transportation Support) programs must bring the documentation required by the Secretariat of the Social Assistance System and their current card from these programs to exchange it.
For people without access to electronic means, the process can be completed in person at any of the 40 modules located throughout the city, where trained staff provide support and guidance throughout the entire process.
The Single Card, Jalisco Style, is a universal tool that will consolidate several functions into a single instrument, such as access to social programs promoted by the local government, the public transportation system in the metropolitan area and municipalities with electronic payment on routes, as well as financial services.
