If you have traveled through Mexico’s touristy destinations, chances are you’ve experienced some disappointment at an all-inclusive resort at one point or another. You check into a beautiful all-inclusive resort, wowed by the opulence of infinity pools, ocean-facing views, and lavishly outfitted accommodations, only to finally sit down to what you anticipate to be an all-you-can-eat feast of upscale cuisine—and the food falls flat.
Hotel Mousai Puerto Vallarta is a luxury property that features nine distinct restaurants as part of its all-inclusive dining options. This includes access to the restaurants at the sister resort, Garza Blanca Resort & Spa. Each culinary destination appoints its own head chef, ensuring the quality and authenticity of its cuisine. The property offers two towers with spacious rooms, suites, and extravagant penthouses, each with its own plunge pool on the deck, gourmet restaurants, and stunning views of the ocean and mountain sides.
Although the property is not directly on the beach, Hotel Mousai provides complimentary shuttles for guests who want to explore more of the expansive property, including the beach, restaurants at the sister resort, or nearby TierraLuna Gardens, which features a steakhouse (and two more dining concepts to come), boutique shopping, and entertainment.
The Rooftop South and North offers both casual and heartier lunch fare and over-the-top cocktails by its infinity pool. Sharables include a selection of seafood dishes, mixed seafood cocktails, tartare, nachos, quesadillas, burritos, fajitas with your choice of protein, royal seafood platter, royal surf and turf, grilled skewers, vegetarian options, burgers, pizza, and whole fish catch of the day. There’s something for everyone at Hotel Mousai Puerto Vallarta’s nine distinct restaurants.
Dao
Located within Hotel Mousai, Dao is a contemporary Chinese restaurant boasting a unique Mondrian-style glass wall design. The bold red, black, and white décor is complemented by the blend of marble, tapestry, ceramics, and redwoods. Led by Executive Chef Lau Su Kiean, the menu is rooted in Cantonese cuisine with highlights including a 2-3 kg imperial Peking duck, carved tableside with traditional accompaniments. Other popular dishes include wok-fried noodles such as Hong-Kong style crispy noodles with seafood and Hor Fun flat rice noodles with your choice of protein. The restaurant also offers a selection of dim sum, fried rice, and sautéed vegetables.
Hiroshi
Hiroshi is Hotel Mousai’s Japanese restaurant, offering an extensive variety of sashimi, sushi rolls, tempura, yakitori, robata, and more. Standout dishes include o-toro; yuzu salmon with kosho sauce; hamachi with truffle sauce and ikura; and black lapa abalone sashimi with ponzu and curry oil. The menu also features hand rolls, nigiri, and classic sushi options such as the rainbow roll. For cooked items, charcoal-grilled skewers like American wagyu and ribeye are available, along with signature dishes like miso black cod and chicken or rib-eye teriyaki.
Bocados Steakhouse
Located down the hill from Hotel Mousai’s towers at Garza Blanca beachfront, Bocados Steakhouse is a must-visit for steak lovers. Reserve an outside table to enjoy the show while savoring your meal. The menu offers a range of entrees, including scampi shrimp in white wine sauce and catch of the day, as well as pork schnitzel and risotto with mushrooms. Don’t forget to save room for one of Bocados’ dry-aged chops, aged between 35 and 50 days, featuring options like a 21 oz bone-in ribeye and sharable porterhouse. Sides include baked potatoes, creamed spinach, lobster mac and cheese, and more, paired with a variety of sauces such as bearnaise or chimichurri.
Noi
Noi, led by Executive Chef Massimo Fongaro, offers authentic Italian cuisine in a modern setting featuring high ceilings, white walls with gold accents, and a colorful wraparound mural. The menu is extensive, with handmade Roman and Neapolitan pizzas made with a 24-hour fermentation process. Standout dishes include cacio e pepe with black truffle essence; boscaiola with wild mushrooms; and capricciosa with mozzarella, ham, and artichokes. Other options include fresh pastas like wild mushroom lasagna, spaghetti al frutti di mari with shrimp, squid, clams, and more, as well as seafood specials like grilled octopus with pesto or ora king salmon with lavender sauce, and meat dishes like t-bone steak or lamb shank braised in Chianti. The menu offers a variety of risottos, anti-pastas, soups, salads, and more, making it difficult to choose just one dish.
