The rebound in dengue cases that has been recorded in recent weeks continues in Jalisco.
Data from the Federal Government Health Secretariat indicate that there are 76 cases so far this year, 9 more in the latest report compared to the previous one.
The Jalisco Secretary of Health, Fernando Petersen, pointed out that the number of dengue cases is expected to increase in the remainder of both the rainy season and the year.
“In the case of Jalisco, it is important to continue with these actions of washing, covering, turning and throwing so as not to have so many cases. We have 76 cases. Last year we had less, yes, we have had an increase and they are very good numbers because they are two-digit”.
The municipalities of the Guadalajara Metropolitan Area are the ones with the highest incidence of dengue cases in Jalisco: Zapopan, which accumulates 31 cases so far this year, Guadalajara has 19 infections and in third place Tonalá with a total of 8 cases.
For this reason, the official insisted that the population must collaborate in eradicating dengue in the face of the increase anticipated by the authorities.
“An increase in dengue is expected, but we want to make a call to help us with the 4 actions of wash, cover, turn and throw because an increase in cases is expected, especially in the southeast of the country,” said Fernando Petersen.
The Jalisco Ministry of Health will work this week in new colonies with brigades to carry out actions against dengue in the following municipalities:
Zapopan: Centro, Jardines del Valle and Víctor Hugo colonies.
Guadalajara: Chapultepec Country and El Mirador neighborhoods.
Tonalá: Pinar de las Palomas and Educadores Jaliscienses colonies.
Tlaquepaque: Cántaros, Jardines de San Martín, El Órgano and Juan de la Barrera neighborhoods.
