Stephen (Steve) Wesley Caver Obituary

901

Ajijic, AR, 1954 – 2023

Stephen (Steve) Wesley Caver, died May 28, 2023, at his home in Ajijic, Jalisco, Mexico, after a short illness. Born June 26, 1954, in Baldwyn, Miss., to Horace and Mary Sue Grisham Caver.

He was co-owner of Pyramid Data Bookkeeping service in North Little Rock, Ark., with his partner, George Mobbs. They were among the first to move into the Argenta Historic District in North Little Rock and were the first to initiate the revitalization of that beautiful area.

Steve was one of the founding members of the South Fork Nature Center at Greers Ferry Lake, Ark., where they spent many weekends at this cabin. Steve was multi-talented, playing countless musical instruments.

He was a member of the Little Rock Wind Symphony for many years until retiring in 2010 and moving to central Mexico. An avid RVer, both he and George traveled the U.S. and Mexico until they discovered Ajijic, which was their paradise. He fully embraced Mexican culture, becoming a dual citizen of Mexico.

He was a member of the local Mexican orchestra as well as those made up of the many expats who had relocated there. He also volunteered to teach local kids music lessons and was active in many charities. His home was the scene of many fundraisers from the local humane society to music organizations.

He entertained many visiting professional musicians and friends at this home, and it was common to find them gathered around his Yamaha Baby Grand piano for a sing along. Until the end, Steve unapologetically enjoyed life and never met a stranger.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents and his husband, George.

He leaves a sister, Becky (Mark) Clemons, of Sherman, Miss.; and a brother, Mitch Caver, of Baldwyn, Miss.; his current partner, Franco Deloya, of Ajijic; a niece, Allison Comer Cox; and his dog, Max. No local service is planned.
