Puerto Vallarta will Host a Meeting of State Tourism Directors

The head of the Municipality’s Directorate of Tourism and Economic Development, Ramón González Lomelí, reported that Puerto Vallarta will once again host the V Congress of Tourism Directors of 40 Jalisco municipalities, starting on June 24. 

He indicated that the objective is to hold workshops, share winning experiences, receive feedback and mechanisms for the economic reactivation of Jalisco destinations: “For us this has been a good element, to be back on the stage and seek that Puerto Vallarta is reborn strong “, he pointed.

Among the participating municipalities are: Mazamitla, Guadalajara, Tonalá, San Juan de Los Lagos, Etzatlán, Ayutla, Talpa de Allende, Lagos de Moreno, Cabo Corrientes, San Sebastián del Oeste, Mascota, Amatitán, Tequila, Jocotepec, Chapala, Etzatlán and Ameca.

They will be able to participate in virtual and face-to-face conferences, such as the one given by the Yucatan Secretary of Tourism, on “tourism marketing”, and the Tamaulipas Secretary of Tourism. They will analyze issues of rural tourism, agrotourism, tourist cooperatives, and magical towns.

“We are going to work with Cabo Corrientes, Mascota Talpa, and San Sebastián, to generate short-distance tourism alliances,” he stressed.

The lawyer González Lomelí expressed his approval for the announcement made by the governor, Enrique Alfaro, in the measures for the health contingency, he pointed out that the private sector has shown them great satisfaction, for raising the margin to 80% occupancy in the hotel industry, as well as the capacity in restaurants, of up to 8 people at a table.

He stressed that this is encouraging, in addition to the flexibility of schedules, and the capacity in public events. He stressed the above helps a lot to economic reactivation, decisions that the tourism sector and local authorities, he said, support.
