Interjet opens flights from Puebla to Houston, New York and Acapulco

Airline and government are linked to generate strategies to promote tourism.

The Mexican airline Interjet opened three new flights that will depart from the Puebla International Airport “Hermanos Serdán” to the cities of Acapulco, Guerrero; as well as Houston and New York, in the United States.

This was announced by the head of the State Government’s Secretary of Tourism, Vanessa Barahona de la Rosa, who said that the flow of tourists that will visit Puebla will increase thanks to these three new commercial flights. “Attract tourism from neighboring states that are waiting to leave and that due to pandemic reasons will not be able to leave the country.”

The official assured that some commercial establishments such as the Michin Aquarium have already offered to not charge the tickets to boys and girls who, accompanied by their parents, show their Interjet boarding passes from Acapulco, Houston, or New York.

He added that according to data from Airports and Auxiliary Services (ASA), Puebla registered an average of 128 national arrivals and departures operations, as well as 32 international ones in the last month, thanks to the work of three Mexican airlines and one international.

For his part, Governor Miguel Barbosa Huerta celebrated Interjet’s arrival in Puebla and stated that the Puebla-Acapulco, Puebla-Houston, and Puebla-New York flights will be very useful because it will connect the state with important tourist and business destinations.

“This type of exchange that will be generated with these three very important flights, Acapulco on the beach is a tourist destination, Houston is a business destination closely linked to everything that happens in Puebla and New York, of course, there is also the capacity of the poblanos to fill scheduled flights “. The event was also attended by Carlos del Valle Guerrero, Interjet Deputy General Director, and David Méndez Márquez, Secretary of the Interior.
