Restrictions for Mexican tourists on the border extend until October

The SRE announced this Thursday about the update of travel restrictions between Mexico and the US

The border crossing between Mexico and the United States has been closed since March 21 due to the pandemic caused by the coronavirus, this closure was carried out as a preventive measure to avoid adding more infections and deaths due to this virus. This Thursday the long-awaited update on land crossing restrictions was released.

Through the official twitter of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE) it was announced that the restrictions will continue for another month after analyzing the situation and spread of the virus in both countries.

The restrictions will be maintained in the same terms in which they have been developed since their implementation on March 21, it should be noted that both countries coordinate health measures in the border region and these restrictions will be in effect until October 21, 2020.

Generally speaking, only US citizens, legal residents and visits for medical reasons are allowed to cross, it was also announced that Mexican parents of a US child can cross to take infants to school.

Now Mexicans will have to wait another month to visit the United States, for now it is recommended to stay at home and not go out if not necessary.
