5 new hotels will arrive in San Miguel de Allende

Despite the pandemic, there is confidence in the municipality on the part of companies.

In the midst of a complicated year for the tourism services industry, which had to remain closed for practically three months, five new hotels will be bequeathed to San Miguel de Allende, a world heritage city and tourist destination par excellence in Guanajuato and Mexico.

“Investments are being made in five new hotels, no tourist destination in this country with a beach or without a beach can say the same in 2020,” said Mayor Luis Alberto Villarreal.

They are Marriott Clevía, Autograph Collection, Hyatt Boutique Hotel, Hilton Boutique, MX hotel and Courtyard by Marriott , which are already under construction and have not stopped despite the crisis. They are expected to be ready to open in the last days of 2020 and during the first half of 2021.

The great tourism hotel company Pueblo Bonito has already signed for the construction of a hotel with more than 100 rooms that will lay its first stone in the first quarter of 2021.

All of them will be added to the 140 hotels already existing in the city, which in the last couple of months began to reopen their services, following the local protocols “Primero la Salud” and state protocols with “Guanajuato Sano”, a strategy of local tourism that has worked for them as they went from 5% hotel occupancy to 30% today.
