The Deputy Attorney General for Missing Persons, Blanca Jacqueline Trujillo Cuevas, confirmed that they are investigating the disappearance of three young people in Puerto Vallarta on June 25, as they were on their way to their graduation ceremony.

They are Flor Yoselin Espinoza Contreras, 18; Elvira Monserrat Guzmán Mascorro, 14; and José Israel Ramos Mejía, 17.

Deputy Attorney General Trujillo Cuevas explained that one line of investigation is considering the possibility of recruitment.

She also indicated that they are analyzing travel routes and possible vehicles used by the victims after contact was lost with their families at a bus stop.

“I want to clarify that the possibility that these individuals are being recruited is indeed a line of investigation. Information has been requested from various platforms.” Apparently, they haven’t used any platform so far.
Blanca Jacqueline added that after their disappearance, the three young people communicated with their families by phone.

They mentioned that they were fine, but couldn’t return home at the moment. One of them asked that the missing persons reports be withdrawn.
The incident occurred near the town of El Zancudo, on state highway 544, on the stretch that connects Puerto Vallarta with the Las Palmas district. The young people reportedly lost contact while at a public transportation stop.

The state prosecutor’s office indicated that they requested the collaboration of authorities in Colima and Michoacán because they found evidence that the young people may have traveled to those states.

We also want to let you know that we have already sent requests for assistance to the states of Colima and Michoacán so that they can help with the investigations because some leads in our case have been found in these two states. We are also working in coordination with other states to locate them.
Authorities are calling on the public to provide any information that may help locate the three students. The investigation remains open and ongoing to clarify the facts and determine their whereabouts.
