The new free transportation system, “Guadalajara te lleva” (Guadalajara Takes You), has begun operations in the Huentitán area, north of Guadalajara, with the goal of facilitating the mobility of thousands of people who travel daily to different parts of the city. The project is the result of a collaboration between the Guadalajara government, the Jalisco state government, and the Urban Electric Train System (SITEUR).

According to state and municipal authorities, the program will benefit approximately 63,000 residents of 15 neighborhoods and will be able to transport up to 2,100 users per day.

What routes does the new free transportation system in Huentitán connect?

According to official authorities, the new free routes allow users to connect with various mass transit systems operating in Guadalajara. These include:

Mi Macro Calzada
Mi Macro Periférico
Light Rail Line 1

In addition, the service also offers connections with routes A-16 and C-107. According to authorities, the goal is to reduce travel times and facilitate transfers to other points in the Metropolitan Area, through two routes: Huentitán and Lomas del Paraíso.

How do the new “Guadalajara te lleva” routes work?

The new transportation system operates with 10 buses, distributed across two different routes. Each route has five buses and designated stops to facilitate passenger boarding and alighting.

The Huentitán route begins at the intersection of Volcán Fujiyama and Volcán Zacapu and ends at Francisco Estrada and Periférico. The Lomas del Paraíso route begins at the intersection of Volcán Ixtepetl and Volcán Chichonal and connects to Federalismo and Periférico.

It was also reported that the program will benefit residents of 15 neighborhoods located north of Guadalajara. These include Balcones de Huentitán, Colonia Independencia, Huentitán el Bajo, Infonavit Planetario, and various sections of Lomas del Paraíso.

Neighborhoods such as Praderas del Paraíso, Rancho San Antonio, San Antonio, and Unión de Urbano Cetemistas, among other nearby areas, will also have access to the service.

Authorities indicated that the program was created following requests from residents of the area over the past few years, with the goal of having a more convenient and efficient transportation alternative.

What will the free transportation schedule be in Guadalajara?

The “Guadalajara te lleva” service will operate from Monday to Sunday, from 5:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Buses will run approximately every 20 minutes.

Authorities also reported that the project represents an investment of 8.1 million pesos and is part of the strategies to improve urban mobility in areas with high demand for public transportation.
