With the participation of a thousand cyclists, the Gran Giro Guadalajara brought together competitors for a route along the main roads of Guadalajara, where the Medio Fondo (75 km) and Gran Fondo (150 km) races were held.

In the main category, the overall winner was Tomás Aguirre Garza, who completed the 150-kilometer course in 3:31:05, after winning in a sprint finish against a small leading group. Second place went to Pablo Andrés Alarcón with a time of 3:31:07, while José Miguel Reyes finished third with 3:31:09.

In the women’s category, Yareli Salazar took the victory with a time of 3:46:02, followed by Diana Valeria Rodríguez (3:46:09) and Fernanda Paola Zárate (3:54:44).

The race began with a controlled section of approximately 20 kilometers along avenues such as Vallarta and Periférico, before the pace opened up in the Tabachines area. From that point, the peloton broke up as it progressed along key thoroughfares like Avenida Lázaro Cárdenas and Avenida López Mateos.

The Medio Fondo cyclists finished their participation near the Minerva Roundabout, while the Gran Fondo participants completed a second lap on a circuit that demanded endurance and strategy.

This year’s event featured a prize purse of 250,000 pesos, divided between both categories, in addition to incentives for those who crossed the intermediate sprints first, which added to the competitiveness throughout the race.

The event solidified its appeal by bringing together both high-performance cyclists and recreational participants, in a day that combined sport, urban mobility, and the use of the city’s main avenues.
