  • Within the framework of the traditional parade, known as “The Burial of the Bad Mood”, the municipal president Leonardo Montañez attended the inauguration of the Chapala Carnival 2026, where Aguascalientes is the first guest municipality in the history of these celebrations.

Leonardo Montañez announced that the municipality of Aguascalientes will participate in the Carnival with a tribute to the engraver José Guadalupe Posada, through the show of Miguel Moctezuma, a specialist in statuetism, makeup, and characterization, with an outstanding career in the promotion of urban art.

There will also be a space for exhibition and sale on behalf of the San Marcos Crafts House. The exhibition integrates the talent of more than 25 artisans, with pieces of ceramics, wood, traditional sweets, jewelry, glass, clay, and painting.

He also thanked the municipal president of Chapala, Alejandro de Jesús Aguirre Curiel, for the invitation to show the cultural richness of Aguascalientes in a showcase as important as this Carnival, which allows the municipality of Aguascalientes to promote its identity and traditions to new audiences.
