During the meeting he held with the Tequila council, Lemus Navarro offered to negotiate with the Attorney General’s Office the release of the municipal government’s accounts, which were frozen after the arrest of Mayor Diego “N”.
“We have to unblock the accounts and guarantee that all the workers of the city council can receive their resources. I have also offered that in case they need an advance of shares, which we had already delivered one in December, we can give them a new advance of participation,” the governor stressed.
Security coordination
In terms of security, the state government reported that coordinated actions will continue between the Mexican Army, National Guard, and State Police to guarantee order and tranquility for both Tequillenses and visitors.
After the director of Public Security of Tequila, Juan Manuel Pérez, was also arrested along with the mayor, Governor Pablo Lemus anticipated that the appointment of the new commissioner of the municipality would be defined within three days and would be made in consensus with authorities from the three levels of government.
“The appointment of the new commissioner must be made in the next three days in conjunction with the Federal Security Secretariat and the Mexican Army. It is very likely that the appointment will come from a profile that has to do with the federation, whether it is called the Federal Security Secretariat, the Mexican Army, the National Guard,” he said.
In the inter-institutional table on Tuesday, military, state, and municipal authorities, social and religious leaders, merchants, tourism service providers, teachers, ejido representatives, and the productive sector participated.
Likewise, Lemus Navarro held working meetings with the interim municipal president of Tequila, Lorena Marisol Rodríguez Rivera, and with local business organizations.
