During the early hours of this Sunday, at least six vehicles were intentionally set on fire in Guadalajara. Civil Protection and Firefighters of the municipality reported that most of them were on Niños Héroes Avenue.

According to reports, the vehicles were set on fire through the gas tank cap, which allowed the fire to spread quickly and cause considerable damage to the affected units.

“The first service we had a report of a vehicle fire in France and Brussels, and when we arrived at the point, we found a Vento-type vehicle, where the back of the upholstery and the dashboard, is in conflagration, and we proceeded to put out the fire,” explained Jesús Contreras, second officer of the Municipal Coordination of Firefighters in Guadalajara.

Two minutes later, they received another report in Venezuela and Niños Héroes; when they arrived at the point, they found two other vehicles – a Rav4 and another Vento – that were on fire in the engine and trunk, respectively.

“We proceeded to suffocate, and then they reported another service in Federalism and Niños Héroes, and when we arrived, we found another Vento type vehicle and proceeded to suffocate and cool the vehicle,” he detailed.
