During the first four months of 2024, the International Airport of Puerto Vallarta recorded almost 2.8 million passengers from both the national and international markets, which means 2.9% more compared to the same period in 2023, according to figures from the Pacific Airport Group (GAP).

The GAP’s monthly report indicates that during April of this year, 232,700 national passengers were transported through the International Airport of Puerto Vallarta, while in the same period of 2023 there were 260,000, representing a decrease, as well as in the accumulated from January to April, where this destination reached 807,600 tourists from this market, but last year there were almost 900,000.

However, with the international market, Puerto Vallarta is surpassing last year’s figures. In April of this 2024, passenger traffic was 386,300 and in 2023 it was almost 383,000; indeed, in the accumulated of the first 4 months of this year, the destination exceeded 1.9 million against 1.7 million in 2023.

Thus, Puerto Vallarta surpassed the Los Cabos Airport during the first four months of the year, which did not reach 2.7 million passengers, counting both markets.

It is also important to highlight that, although Puerto Vallarta was low in the national market, this is also due to the effects of Holy Week 2024, which was from March 24 to 31, compared to Holy Week 2023, which was from April 2 to 9.”
