 The recovery of the vehicle is carried out in coordination with the security dependency of the three levels of government.

If you were a victim of the theft of your vehicle, it is important that you make the complaint in a timely manner, as the timely report could guarantee the recovery of the vehicle.

During the month of February, a total of 251 vehicles were recovered, of which 192 were through the video surveillance infrastructure, 24 with satellite tracking and 35 from inter-institutional coordination tasks. Steps to follow to report the theft of your vehicle:

  1. Call the emergency lines 9-1-1 to make your report.
  2. Provide the following information:

• Location where it occurred.

• Data for vehicle identification: brand, model, color, plates, owner’s name and particular characteristics.

  1. Write down the report number that the operator provided you.
  2. Go to the State Prosecutor’s Office with your report number and documentation that proves the ownership of the vehicle to make the complaint.
  3. Stay on top of its recovery.
  4. When you recover your vehicle, you must deregister it at the Immediate Return Vehicle Center (CVDI).
