Tropical Wave 14: When does it enter Mexico and which states will be affected?

The hurricane season continues in force in the country, at the moment tropical wave number 13 is located to the southwest of the coasts of Jalisco and Colima and is in constant interaction with a low pressure channel that extends over the west and center of the national territory , the foregoing will cause showers and heavy rains in the mentioned regions, however during the week, next Tuesday, a new tropical wave will arrive in the national territory. 

Starting on Tuesday, July 8, the direct effects of the new tropical wave, number 14 of the season, will be felt, as has happened lately, it will enter Mexico from the side of the Yucatan peninsula and the gulf with clear destiny to the waters of the Pacific Ocean.  

The tropical wave will have the opportunity to interact with the entry of humidity into the waters of the Pacific and Gulf of Mexico, producing rains and intervals of showers in the context of the Mexican southeast, accompanied by electrical discharges and very heavy punctual rains in Veracruz and Oaxaca. 

Both systems will allow the permanence of rains in the southeast and in the west, while the anticyclonic circulation of medium levels of the atmosphere over the southwest of the United States, will generate a very hot to extremely hot environment with maximum temperatures above 40 °C over the states northwest, north and northeast of Mexico. 

Weather forecast for the effects of tropical wave number 14 

It is possible that tropical wave number 13 will begin to withdraw between Wednesday the 19th and Thursday the 20th of the current month, however tropical wave number 14 will take its place due to rain in the following states: 

     -Heavy rains with very strong points (50 to 75 mm): Veracruz and Oaxaca. 

     -Intervals of showers with heavy punctual rains (25 to 50 mm): Sonora, Chihuahua, Sinaloa, Nayarit, Jalisco, Colima, Michoacán, Guerrero, Chiapas, Tabasco, Campeche and Yucatán. 

     -Intervals of showers (5 to 25 mm): Baja California Sur, Durango, Guanajuato, Hidalgo, State of Mexico, Mexico City, Morelos, Tlaxcala, Puebla and Quintana Roo. 

     -Isolated rains (0.1 to 5 mm): Baja California, Coahuila, Nuevo León, Tamaulipas, San Luis Potosí and Querétaro. 

In the case of wind gusts of 60 to 70 km/h and dust storms are expected: Coahuila, Nuevo León and Tamaulipas, while there will be winds of 40 to 60 km/h: coasts of Oaxaca, Tabasco, Campeche and Yucatán; with possible dust storms: Sonora, Chihuahua, Durango, Zacatecas, San Luis Potosí, Aguascalientes, Jalisco and Guanajuato. 

For Jalisco, the temperature ranges will remain between 35 to 40 °C like the entities of Sinaloa, Nayarit, Michoacán, Guerrero, Oaxaca, Durango, San Luis Potosí, Veracruz, Tabasco and Quintana Roo.
