2022 has been a great year of recovery for tourism activity for Puerto Vallarta, with high occupancies, above 80 percent on average, and a greater economic benefit than prior years to the pandemic, considered Ángel Sarmiento, manager of the Sheraton Buganvilias Resort & Convention Center hotel.

In an interview, the hotelier mentioned that in this month of December the arrival of thousands of national and international tourists is notorious.

“We observe that there is a great demand from travelers to visit this destination; the economy supported by tourism is strengthening”.

Sarmiento observes a destination with personality, projection and dynamism, which continues to have the preferences of tourists from Mexico and North America.

The hotel executive stressed that there are clear signs that this trend will continue.

“Follow the arrival of more cruise ships and the new air frequencies that are arriving from the United States and Canada, as a result of the high demand for vacations here.”

He mentioned that this year was outstanding, marked by the family segment, since gradually as health and economic conditions improved, Mexican and foreign families decided to travel to their favorite destinations.

Ángel Sarmiento also considered that the demand has allowed to offer competitive rates that attract visitors with high purchasing power, particularly foreign tourists who want to discover the attractions of Mexican culture.

Finally, the manager of the Sheraton Buganvilias said that it is very good that more vacation days have been approved for Mexican workers starting next year, who could enjoy longer stays and increase the economic benefit on the country’s beaches.
