This Sunday, citizens cleaned the Mismaloya River and its surroundings in order to raise awareness that these spaces should not be contaminated and also to be aware of the rainy season.
It is worth mentioning that this cleaning initiative was carried out by the members of the “Clean your sea” project. In this sense, Rigoberto Pedroza highlighted that they are preparing for the rainy season, so they are cleaning by sea; Now that the hurricanes are here, the river must be cleaned as well.
The meeting point was Mismaloya Beach, where more than 30 people gathered, dividing themselves with black bags to go to the different points to collect garbage.
He indicated that every year a cleanup is carried out in this river prior to the rains and reiterated that they should raise awareness among service providers, tourists, and the Mismaloya community that garbage should not be thrown, then there are the consequences with the floods.
