The Ministry of Health announced, on the afternoon of Friday, August 6, 2021, the COVID Traffic Light that will be in force from August 9 to 22.
Given the spikes in COVID-19 infections in the Mexican Republic and the predominance of the Delta variant, this is how the risk traffic light was left in Mexico for the next two weeks.
The Ministry of Health (SSa) announced the change in the epidemiological traffic light in the country in this third wave of COVID-19 pandemic, and again a discrepancy was registered between the federal agency and the Government of Mexico City: the SSa places the capital in red.

This Friday, it was also reported that in one day 21,563 new cases of infected people were registered: in two consecutive days, the figure of 21,000 was exceeded.
Regarding the number of deaths, it was detailed that 568 related to COVID-19 were registered in the last 24 hours, for a total of 243,733.
The report reported that the 10 entities with the most cases of COVID-19 are: Mexico City, State of Mexico, Nuevo León, Guanajuato, Jalisco, Puebla, Sonora, Tabasco, Veracruz and Querétaro.
Health authorities warn that there are 144,176 estimated active cases, that is, that they have presented symptoms during the last 14 days, which represents 4.6% of the total active pandemic in the country.
Meanwhile, the recovered persons add up to 2 million 298,074.
