Before the announcement of the Nayarit Tourism Secretariat, that they will only allow access to the tourist destinations of Bahía de Banderas and Compostela to visitors who accredit their reservation in accommodation centers for Easter, to which the president of the Association of Hotels and Motels in Puerto Vallarta, Álvaro Garciarce Monraz, said that this destination could have an impact, due to a misinterpretation of travelers who want to arrive by road and do not have free transit.
“We as the Puerto Vallarta Hotel Association are having communication with the Jalisco secretary of tourism, Germán Ralis Cumplido so that he, in turn, has communication with the Nayarit secretary and can clarify this situation that could affect this destination during the season of holidays”.
The businessman reiterated that the tourist who comes to Puerto Vallarta may have a bad perception of free transit and that this could make the land traveler uncomfortable that the real road to travel from any part of the Bajío, the Greater Area, including the State of Mexico and other cities, is through highway 200 that specifically pass through Nayarit.
“We do not know the scheme of how it will be handled if there will be checkpoints since that will interrupt free traffic, possibly generating conflict of vehicles.”
He indicated that it is necessary for the Nayarit authorities to clarify very well how they will be implementing their operations for Easter and not affect this tourist destination that has other restrictions for visitors.
It is worth mentioning that, at a press conference, the Government of Nayarit reported that 14 modules with various services for information, support, and assistance to tourists will be installed in the municipalities with the greatest influx such as: Tecuala, Santiago Ixcuintla, Compostela, San Blas, Santa María del Oro, and Bahía de Banderas.
