Zapopan, Jalisco.- A man who was allegedly a carrier of Covid-19 died this afternoon aboard a public transport unit in the Metropolitan Area of ​​Guadalajara, Jalisco.

It was around 1:00 p.m. today when the driver of unit U5 of route T-16B (previously 633)  was forced to stop his unit on Laureles Avenue, almost at the corner of Periférico Norte, within the municipality of Zapopan, after one of his passengers had health problems.

After suffering a cough attack, referring to breathing complications and fever, the man between 35 and 40 years old was fainting inside the unit, so the driver immediately requested medical help.

Paramedics of Municipal Medical Services of Zapopan, as well as agents of Civil Protection and Zapopan Firefighters, mobilized to the area located a few meters away from the Gran Terraza Belenes Commercial Plaza and one of the stops of Line 3 of the Light Train of Guadalajara, so the event caused a great commotion among those who walked and drove their vehicles in the area.

According to the authorities’ report, the passenger vanished before the gaze of the driver and other passengers who were transported in the green bus that crosses various streets in the north and center of the city of the Guadalajara Metropolitan Area.

After confirming his death, a Covid-19 test was performed on the deceased man, however, until the publication of this note, state or municipal authorities have released the results.

The Government of Jalisco pointed out in a statement that it shared with DEBATE.

It was Guillermo Castillo Sevilla, in charge of the area of ​​the hazardous materials division of Zapopan Civil Protection, who explained to the local press that his presence was requested at the site in order to ” decontaminate, clean up a public transport vehicle and its passengers s “.

One by one of the companions were sanitized since they were in contact with the deceased passenger minutes before.

“First we cordoned off the area, we decontaminated what was the driver and the witness and then all the emergency forces that have participated and that have been exposed to this situation,” he added.

Finally, an agent of the Public Ministry arrived to attest to the death and then the staff of the Jalisco Institute of Forensic Sciences (IJSF) who, with all preventive measures, lowered the corpse from the unit and later transferred it to their facilities to perform a necropsy of law.
