To support that travelers visiting the Riviera Nayarit meet the requirements to present a negative test for Covid-19 to enter the United States and Canada, the destination is prepared with hospitals, laboratories, and clinics.

Local establishments are fully equipped to serve tourists from North American countries that imposed these measures and for whom special rates are offered in these studies.

The Riviera Nayarit Convention and Visitors Bureau (OVC) stressed that it is important for travelers to review the requirements for each country, as Canada requires negative results from a PCR test, while the United States admits this test or the antigen test.

Travelers are also invited to make advance appointments with hospitals, laboratories, or clinics. They must present their passport and departure plane ticket to ensure that the test does not exceed the 72 hours requested by the governments of the countries.

Riviera Nayarit offers tourists three hospitals: Hospital Joya, Hospital CMQ and Hospital Punta Mita; as well as Laboratorio Genomiclab, Servicios Médicos de la Bahía and Travel Medical Assistance.

Both types of tests are offered in these establishments. The PCR ranges between three thousand and four thousand pesos and the results are delivered in 24 hours, except for Hospital Punta Mita and Servicios Médicos de la Bahía, which have them in 16 and 12 hours, respectively.

Antigen tests are around 1,500 pesos and the delivery time ranges from four to six hours or in some cases up to 12 hours, so it is important to consider the appointment regarding the date and time of the flight.

In addition, the hotels and hotel chains of Riviera Nayarit will be providing the service in support of their international guests. Therefore, visitors can also verify taking this test through the hotels where they are staying.

Marc Murphy, Managing Director of the Destination OVC, commented “Riviera Nayarit has enough test kits as well as the ability to assist its visitors with this new requirement prior to their return to the United States or Canada.”

“The destination has world-class hospitals and clinics where travelers can have exams administered in a safe environment; we are prepared to make your visit as comfortable and safe as possible in this new normal, “added Murphy.
