There are many aspects of this municipality on the Chiapas coast that attract the visitor. In addition to its beaches, there is the vernacular architecture, its abundant and varied vegetation, and what to say about the gastronomy.

Lemon water with chia or tepache, cocadas and coyol with candy, turula toasts, dogfish empanadas, grilled mullet, and shrimp broth, and macabil sausage are something that should not be overlooked.

When visiting Tonalá it is important to take into account some recommendations, like the reservation for the holidays preferably between December and mid-May, when there is no rain. Likewise, it is necessary to anticipate that April, May, and June are the hottest months.
