First doses of Chinese vaccine against Covid-19 arrive in Mexico for Phase 3 trials

The Secretary of Foreign Relations, Marcelo Ebrard, said that up to 15,000 volunteers from 12 entities in the country will participate.

The Secretary of Foreign Affairs, Marcelo Ebrard, announced that last Friday, October 30, the first doses of the Covid-19 vaccine from Cansino Biologics (China) to begin Phase 3 clinical trials

“Between 10 and 15,000 Mexican test subjects over 18 years of age will participate in 20 health centers distributed in 12 entities,” according to the information released by the Foreign Minister.

For her part, Martha Delgado, Undersecretary of Multilateral Affairs, pointed out that the vaccine studies seek to confirm its operation, and is part of the commitment of the Mexican government to participate in the studies for a vaccine against Covid-19.

According to the official, “this week the CanSino Biologics vaccine application protocol will begin, which establishes the safety of volunteers who are going to participate in clinical trials.”
